The Coffee

This CM Washed lot from Thageini is vibrant, juicy, and layered with sweetness. In the cup you’ll find honeycomb, ripe nectarine, and bright orange citrus with a silky mouthfeel and clean finish.

The profile combines classic Kenyan clarity with added sweetness and texture from carbonic maceration, creating a coffee that feels expressive, elegant, and balanced.

The Producer

This coffee was produced by members of the Aguthi Farmer’s Co-operative Society at Thageini Wet Mill in Nyeri, Kenya. The cooperative works with hundreds of smallholder producers and focuses on quality improvement through training, farm support, and careful cherry selection.

The Process

Fully ripe cherries are hand sorted before being placed into sealed CO₂-filled tanks for a four-day controlled fermentation. The coffee is then pulped, washed, and dried slowly on raised beds for 15–18 days.

This process enhances sweetness, mouthfeel, and fruit clarity while maintaining the bright structure Kenyan coffees are known for.
